Once upon a time, my book bestie looked at me and said, "Dragon is mine." My first reaction was laughter. Then I asked, "Oh, he is?" She nodded and replied, "He is. I licked him, so he's mine." Fast forward a few months, and I had written Dragon's book with her as the love interest. I gave her Dragon. Since then, several of my bookish friends have licked Howlers, Claws, or various other characters, and the I Licked 'Em, So Thye're Mine Subseries was born.
